Graduate of the Charter Class of the SF SPCA Academy for Dog Trainers, Susan has trained dogs in the behavior departments of the nation’s premier animal shelters and owns DingoGirl Dog Training. Susan trains dogs in Brooklyn, new York, and the rest of the world, using positive reinforcement based methods. Susan specializes in helping anxious and reactive dogs live happily with their peoople.
Maddie Messina is the owner of Paws for Thought Dog Training in Manhattan, NY. As a result of her work with shelter animals, pet dogs, and her graduate course studies, Maddie has an extensive and in-depth knowledge of canine behavior. She prides herself in the ability to bring this knowledge and skill-set to her work with private clients, allowing her to assist clients whose dogs have a complex set of issues that otherwise may go unaided. Maddie came to acquire the Separation Anxiety Pro certification after dealing first-hand with her own dog’s separation anxiety. She knows exactly how debilitating it can be to have a dog who cannot be left alone. Maddie is thrilled to be able to help clients gain their freedom back and most importantly teach them how to help their dog feel safe and comfortable when left alone!
Clare Hart-Slattery is the owner and operator of Adventure Ready Dog Training. She is a Certified Training Counselor through The Academy for Dog Trainers, where she graduated with honors. She is a force free trainer and is committed to coaching owners and helping them achieve their #doggoals. She volunteers with Best Friends Animal Society, based in Utah. When she’s not training, you can find her outside rock climbing, hiking, and adventuring in the great outdoors with her husband and two pups, Dexter and Penny.
Karly Hertel is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, graduate of the Victoria Stillwell Academy, and a Certified Separation Anxiety (SA) Pro Trainer, trained by renowned SA training expert Julie Naismith. Committed to providing the most humane and effective solutions to her clients’ dog training needs, Karly avidly pursues ongoing continuing education and professional development by watching seminars and webinars and keeping current on industry literature. Karly has taken The Karen Pryor Academy’s Puppy Start Right for Instructors course and Dognostic’s Walk this Way Leash Training course. Karly is a member of The Pet Professional Guild, the only membership organization for professionals who subscribe to the view that aversive methods should not be used – or even deemed necessary as part of a strategic training or behavior modification program. When not helping clients to enjoy easier lives with their canine companions, Karly enjoys daily walks and adventures with her dogs, Milo, Archie, and Kona.
Jenny is a force and fear free trainer based in Dronfield, Derbyshire and surrounding areas. Coached and mentored for 4 years by Victoria Cooper, Behaviourist, Mentor and Coach, she now works full time for People and Dogs in Sheffield Jenny is passionate about helping dogs and owners live happily together using only positive, reward based methods. Jenny is a member of the Pet Professional Guild, International Companion Animal Network, UK Dog Behaviour and Training Charter, Pet Industry Advocacy International and holds a current canine first aid certificate.
Denise heads up Red Dog Training in Hertfordshire and holds an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour, is a graduate of The Academy for Dog Trainers and a member of the APDT (UK) MAPDT 01215. Her team provides in person classes from puppies, teens and agility with Denise now specialising in Behavioural support (remote and in person) for Separation or Upset dog issues.
Robin is a force-free, certified professional dog trainer with over 19 years of experience in training, rescue, behavior management & animal therapy in Dallas, TX. Robin is also certified Fear Free and is a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator as well as being a Certified Separation Anxiety Pro. Robin uses force-free, science-based positive reinforcement methods only. She wants your dog to enjoy wanting to work with you and for you. And she loves seeing the tight bond that is created as the human end of the leash starts to understand what their dog is saying to them. Robin works with quite a wide variety of issues. And your dog does not have to have issues to work with a trainer. She loves working with kids and their dogs to create a beautiful bond they can grow up with. She helps people train their dogs to be registered therapy dogs as well as to go out into public with their two legged human. Dogs should have nice manners in public and Robin takes you anywhere you would like to go for training. Stores, restaurants, your kids sports games….. Kristina Martin, CBCC-KA, like many trainers, grew up with an affinity for animals. Her experience in the rescue community fostered a passion and desire to dig deep into animal behavior sciences and led her to pursue multiple certifications. Aside from her obvious love for dogs, Kristina equally enjoys being a partner and coach to their humans. Kristina is continually engaged in new educational opportunities to grow as a trainer including advocating and utilizing force-free methods, as she firmly believes giving dogs choice and agency is the most effective and compassionate way to train. Kristina currently specializes in aggression and separation-related behaviors with Boss Babe Dog Training in Dallas, TX. In her free time, Kristina enjoys spending time outdoors, watching documentaries, and teaching her personal dogs —Sampson, Seven, Salem and Squeaks— new tricks!
Lauren is a 2016 participant of the Karen Pryor Academy for professional dog trainers. She is also a Certified Pet Dog Trainer, Fear-Free Certified Trainer, and Certified Separation Anxiety Pro Trainer. Lauren started out her early dog training career mentoring with experienced local trainers before taking on her own training classes and private lessons. She most recently worked as a behavior specialist at a high volume animal shelter for a number of years. In that position, she saw a great need for separation anxiety resources, and decided to pursue certification to specialize in separation anxiety. Lauren also has experience working in vet clinics, dog daycares, and grooming salons. She values continuing education so she can bring clients the most effective methods available. She is committed to using humane training methods backed by the latest scientific research. This means that she will never do anything that hurts or scares your dog!
