Helping dogs and their people through separation anxiety and similar behaviors is a passion of mine because comfortable alone time is often such a relief for both the humans and the dogs. Because I know how hard life can be with difficult dogs, I am also really passionate about working with dogs through puppyhood and adolescence to create stable and resilient adult dogs. I want the dogs that I work with to be enthusiastic and unafraid learners who feel comfortable showing me how they really feel. I am a lifelong learner, and I am dedicated to continuing my education, and staying up to date on the most humane and effective ways to train.

Miranda van der Meer-Spaans

Hi, My name is Miranda, a dog lover from the Netherlands, with a genuine interest in people, too. I am a certified behaviourist, specialising in dogs’ emotional well-being, and a certified SA Pro trainer. Thanks to my dog, Pip, I have become somewhat of an expert in dealing with separation anxiety. In fact, it was Pip that inspired me to take up several courses backed by science, including the very comprehensive course offered by Julie Naismith. I like to think that my own experience with Pip’s separation anxiety as well as my own experience as Pip’s owner has put me in a unique position to be able to offer personalised online guidance to fellow dog owners taking their particular circumstances into account. Any guidance I offer is always fear- and pain-free. My training as a canine behaviourist is reinforced by my extensive experience as a coordinator of 170 volunteers as part of my former day job, which has exposed me to many different experiences with many different people from all walks of life. It would be my privilege to take this journey with you, in helping you and your dog! Please feel free to contact me – I will be more than happy to answer any of your questions. Kind regards, Miranda

Fear and force free R+ dog training. Animal welfare is paramount to me and is the basis of all my courses. That’s why my focus is on building and maintaining a relationship of trust between you and your dog. By looking at body language and recognizing stress signals, you learn what your dog is trying to tell you and when he needs some extra support, for example. Not only does this help the dog to feel safe in its new environment faster, but its confidence in you will grow and you will lay the foundation for good cooperation. My training method is reward-oriented and dog-friendly, according to the latest scientific insights. Research has shown that positively trained dogs are happier and learn faster. This is also good for the dog’s self-confidence and will make it dare to take (more) initiative.

Hi! Nice to meet you! After having worked for several international companies, I decided to switch careers to do what I love doing most: working with people and dogs! I work as a dog behaviorist and I am a certified SA Pro! Next to that, I’m a canine myofascial release therapist, as I believe body and mind are very much connected. I work science based and want to help out both dogs and people to enjoy life to the fullest, as I believe we should enjoy the time with our dogs as much as we can. I live in a small village in Zeeland, together with my husband, our dog Oscar (my biggest inspiration) and our 2 rabbits: Flip & Mila. In my free time, you will find me in nature :). If you have any questions, feel welcome to contact me!

Shannon Peters-van Kooten

Hi there! My name is Shannon Peters-van Kooten and I live nearby Rotterdam in the Netherlands. I teach puppy class at the local dog school every week with lots of love and fun since 2019. I train fear and force free and I find dog welfare very important. At the dog school we get a lot of questions of pup parents who have problems with their dog being left alone. That inspired me to dive deeper into this subject an therefore I graduated as an SA pro in 2022. I really look forward to help owners with their dog with separation anxiety so that the dogs feels comfortable again being home alone and the owner will get the freedom in their life back. If you have any questions about separation anxiety, puppies or about me, feel free to contact me.
